Set up DashVue with the guided setup wizard

How the DashVue setup wizard works: goals, business profile, eBay connection, and first sync. Every step is skippable.

The guided setup wizard is the fastest way to get DashVue ready for your eBay business. It takes you through five short, full-screen steps: a welcome, picking your goals, a quick business and VAT profile, connecting your eBay account, and your first sync. Progress shows as five dots at the top, and every step is skippable.

Before you start

You do not need to have anything ready in advance. Every step in the wizard is optional and skippable, so you can move straight to connecting eBay if you already know how you want DashVue set up, or skip everything and explore the dashboard first and fill in details later.

Step 1: Welcome

The first screen is a short introduction. Press Get Started to begin, and the five-dot progress indicator appears from the next step onwards.

Step 1: the welcome screen. Get Started begins the wizard.

Step 2: What do you want to do?

Pick your goals. You can tap a Quick start persona (Side hustle, Full-time reseller, Vintage or used, Bulk or new goods) to preselect a sensible bundle, or tick the individual goals yourself. Select all that apply. Your picks just help DashVue highlight the most relevant parts of the dashboard for you first, and a few options are marked Soon. Nothing here is locked in, you can change it later in Settings.

Step 2: goals. Persona quick-picks sit above a grid of goal cards; here Track my profits is selected.

Step 3: Quick Setup (business and VAT)

A short set of questions about your business: an optional business name, whether your eBay account is an individual or business account, and, if you picked the VAT and tax goal, whether you are VAT registered and on which scheme. This helps DashVue show the right figures (for example VAT inclusive or exclusive) in your profit and loss reporting. You can skip it and set these later in Settings.

Step 3: Quick Setup. Business name, account type, and a VAT section that appears when the VAT and tax goal is chosen.

Step 4: Connect eBay

This links your eBay account to DashVue so it can pull in your sales, fees, and listings. DashVue works with one eBay account at a time, on the UK eBay site. You can also choose I’ll do this later and connect from Settings when you are ready.

Step 4: Connect eBay. One click starts eBay's official sign-in; you can also do it later.

Step 5: First sync

The final step kicks off DashVue pulling in your recent eBay data: listings, orders, fees, and feedback. It usually takes a minute or two, and when it finishes you get a quick summary of what was found before you land on your dashboard.

Connecting eBay: read-only vs Full Access

When you connect your eBay account, eBay will ask what level of access to grant. This matters for what you can do in DashVue afterwards.

Full Access is needed to publish or push changes

A read-only eBay connection lets DashVue import your sales and draft listings for you to review, but it cannot publish anything or push changes back to eBay. To publish listings or push updates from DashVue, you need to grant Full Access when connecting your eBay account. Listings that DashVue publishes are fixed-price (Buy It Now) listings, not auctions.

Skipping and re-running the wizard

Every screen in the wizard has a skip option, so you are never forced to answer a question or connect eBay before you are ready. If you skip the eBay connection, you can connect it later from your account settings.

If your goals or business details change, or you just want to go through the setup steps again, you do not need to contact support. You can re-run the setup wizard at any time from your account settings.

Stock levels stay on eBay

During setup and afterwards, DashVue reads your eBay data to build your dashboard, but it never writes stock quantity back to eBay. Your eBay listings remain the source of truth for stock levels.
