Export your DashVue data (GDPR data request)

How to download a JSON export of the personal data DashVue holds on your account, under UK GDPR Article 15 and 20.

Under UK GDPR you have the right to see and take away a copy of the personal data DashVue holds about you. This article explains what’s in a DashVue data export, how to request one, and the limits of what the file contains.

What the export gives you

DashVue can generate a JSON file containing the personal data held on your account. This supports your rights under UK GDPR Article 15 (the right of access) and Article 20 (the right to data portability), so you can inspect your data or move it elsewhere.

How to request your export

  1. Go to Settings and open the Danger Zone section.
  2. Choose the option to export your data.
  3. Confirm your password when prompted. This step is required before any export is generated, as a security check that it’s really you asking for the data.
  4. Download the JSON file once it’s ready.

What isn’t included

The export is a genuine copy of your account data, but it has two honest limits worth knowing before you rely on it:

Two things the export does not contain

Your eBay OAuth tokens are redacted from the export for security, they are never included in plain text. Storage files such as receipt uploads and listing photos are not bundled into the JSON either. Instead, the export links to them by URL, so you’ll need those links to retrieve the actual files rather than finding them embedded in the download.

Good to know

Because password confirmation is required, make sure you know your current DashVue password before you start the export. If you’ve forgotten it, reset it first, then come back and request the export.

Keep the downloaded JSON file somewhere secure. It contains your personal account data, and while the OAuth tokens are redacted, other personal details in the file should still be treated as sensitive.

Need something the export doesn’t cover?

If you have questions about what data DashVue holds beyond what’s in the export, or you want a file deleted, see the related articles below or contact support directly.
