Invite teammates and set their permissions
How to invite teammates to DashVue with a shareable link, assign role presets or custom permissions, and understand seat limits.
If you work with a VA, warehouse staff, an accountant, or a co-founder, you can bring them into DashVue and control exactly what they can see and do. This article covers how invites work, the role presets available, custom permission toggles, and the seat limits tied to your plan.
How inviting works
Team management lives in Settings → Team. Only the account owner can invite, remove, or change a teammate’s role, this section is not visible to anyone else.
- Go to Settings → Team.
- Click to generate an invite. DashVue creates a shareable invite link rather than sending an email on your behalf.
- Copy that link and send it to your teammate yourself, by email, WhatsApp, Slack, or however you normally reach them.
- Your teammate opens the link, signs up or logs in, and is added to your team automatically.
- Back in Settings → Team, assign them a role preset or build a custom set of permissions.
DashVue does not email the invite for you
Generating an invite only produces the link. You are responsible for sending it to the person you want to add. There is no automatic invite email, so if a teammate says they never got anything, check that the link was actually sent rather than assuming DashVue dispatched it.
Role presets
To make setup quick, DashVue offers five role presets that cover the most common team setups:
- Manager: broad day-to-day access across listings, orders, and reporting for someone running the shop alongside you.
- Accountant: focused on financial views, profit and loss, and tax reports, without needing access to listings or shipping tools.
- Warehouse: inventory and stock-focused access for whoever is picking and managing stock levels.
- Shipper: access scoped to orders and shipping, for someone who only needs to get parcels out of the door.
- Viewer: read-only access, useful for a business partner or advisor who wants visibility without being able to change anything.
Pick whichever preset is closest to the role you need, then fine-tune from there if it is not quite right.
Custom, per-feature permissions
If a preset does not fit exactly, you can override it. Each teammate has individual permission toggles per feature area, so you can, for example, give someone Warehouse-level stock access plus read-only visibility into profit reports, without handing them anything else.
Start narrow and widen access later
It is easier to grant additional access to a teammate later than to work out what to remove after something has gone wrong. Start new teammates on the narrowest preset that covers their job and add permissions as needed.
What stays owner-only
A handful of actions cannot be granted to any role, no matter how permissions are customised. These stay locked to the account owner:
- Billing and subscription management.
- Disconnecting the eBay account.
- Deleting the DashVue account.
Managing team members themselves, inviting, removing, and changing roles, is also restricted to the owner.
Seat limits and your plan
Every DashVue plan is store-size based (Starter, Growth, or Scale, from £8.99 a month) and includes the full dashboard on every tier, the plan only changes the price and how many teammate seats are included. Plans include a small number of built-in teammate seats, and you can add extra seats for a small monthly add-on fee if your team grows beyond that.
Seats are capped by plan, extras cost more
If you try to invite a teammate beyond your plan’s included seat count, you will need to add an extra seat first. Check Settings → Team for your current seat usage before sending out a new invite link, so a teammate is not left waiting on an invite that cannot be activated yet.
For details on what each plan includes, see the pricing page, or see the related articles below for more on getting your account set up.
