Individual vs Business eBay accounts in DashVue

How your eBay account type changes fees and shipping in DashVue, and why you cannot change it inside the app.

eBay tags every UK seller as either an Individual or a Business account, and DashVue reads that tag rather than asking you to set it. This article explains where to see your account type in DashVue, the two places it changes what you see (Final Value Fees and the shipping wallet), and what to do if the type looks wrong.

Where your account type comes from

Your account type is not a DashVue setting. It is reported by eBay itself whenever DashVue syncs your connection, and it shows up as “Account Type” on your eBay connection details in DashVue’s Settings, alongside your eBay username, feedback score and shop tier. DashVue simply displays whatever eBay reports: Individual or Business.

Because the value comes from eBay, there is no toggle, dropdown or override for it inside DashVue. If your account type changes on eBay’s side, it will update in DashVue the next time your eBay connection syncs.

This is read-only in DashVue

DashVue cannot set or change your account type. It only reflects what eBay reports for your connected seller account. If the type shown looks wrong, the fix has to happen on eBay’s side, not in DashVue.

Final Value Fees for Individual sellers

If eBay reports your UK account as an Individual seller, DashVue shows Final Value Fees of £0 across your fee and profit figures. This follows eBay’s own fee structure for Individual accounts rather than a DashVue calculation choice, so your profit numbers in DashVue will reflect that £0 Final Value Fee line wherever fees are broken down.

If your account is reported as Business, DashVue calculates Final Value Fees as normal for your listings and orders.

The shipping wallet is for Business sellers only

DashVue’s shipping wallet, the feature that lets you fund shipping and buy postage labels, is only available to accounts eBay reports as Business sellers. If your account type is Individual, you will not see the shipping wallet or be able to purchase labels through DashVue.

Individual sellers cannot use the shipping wallet

This is a hard limit, not a bug. DashVue’s shipping wallet is restricted to Business eBay accounts. If you are an Individual seller and need shipping label tools, this part of DashVue will not be available to you unless your eBay account type changes to Business.

If your account type looks wrong

Since DashVue only mirrors what eBay reports, an incorrect account type is an eBay account setting, not a DashVue one. Check your seller account details directly on eBay first. If you believe DashVue is showing the wrong type despite your eBay account being correct, contact DashVue support at accounts@dashvue.co.uk so the connection can be re-checked.

Reconnecting your eBay account from Settings → eBay will also trigger a fresh sync, which picks up the current account type eBay has on file.
