Connect your eBay account to DashVue

How the eBay connection works, what the pre-flight screen shows, and the one-account UK-only limit before you connect.

Before DashVue can show your profit, orders, listings and fees, you need to connect your eBay account. This article walks through the connection process, explains exactly what DashVue asks eBay for before you go, and covers an important limit: DashVue only supports one eBay account at a time.

How to connect your eBay account

  1. Go to Settings → eBay.
  2. Click Connect eBay Account.
  3. A pre-flight screen appears first, showing exactly what DashVue will be able to do and what it will never do. Read it, then click Continue to eBay.
  4. You are sent to eBay to sign in and approve the access DashVue is requesting.
  5. You are brought straight back to DashVue, and your first sync begins automatically, usually finishing in under a minute.

DashVue never sees or stores your eBay password. eBay handles sign-in itself, and you can disconnect the connection at any time from Settings → eBay.

What the pre-flight screen tells you

Before you are redirected to eBay, DashVue shows a screen listing exactly what it will request. Under what DashVue will be able to do, that includes reading your orders, line items and buyer addresses, reading your active and ended listings, reading your selling fees, payouts and feedback, and receiving eBay notifications when an order, listing or feedback entry changes. If you choose Full Access, it also covers updating prices on your listings (only when you confirm a price drop), pushing tracking numbers to eBay orders once you have bought a label, and relisting sold-out listings on your behalf where you have opted in.

Under what DashVue will never do, the screen is explicit: DashVue will never see or store your eBay password, never post new listings without you explicitly creating them, never message buyers on your behalf, and never share your account data with third parties. With a read-only connection, DashVue also will not change prices or push anything to eBay at all.

Read Only vs Full Access

When you connect, you choose an access level. Read Only lets DashVue view your listings, prices and stock levels, your orders and fulfilment data, your payouts, transactions and fees, and your promoted listing campaigns, but it cannot make any changes on eBay. Full Access includes everything in Read Only, plus editing listing titles, prices and stock, managing promoted listing rates, replying to feedback, and managing seller account settings.

You can draft and view listings in DashVue on a read-only connection, but publishing a listing or pushing any change back to eBay needs Full Access. DashVue only publishes fixed-price, Buy It Now listings, it does not create auction-style listings, and it does not write stock quantity changes back to eBay.

One eBay account, UK only

DashVue currently supports connecting a single eBay account, and it is built for the UK eBay marketplace only. You cannot connect multiple eBay accounts to one DashVue account, and other-country eBay marketplaces are not supported.

Reconnecting and disconnecting

If your connection expires or you want to switch access level, use Reconnecton the eBay settings page. You will see the same pre-flight screen and be sent back to eBay to confirm. Disconnecting stops syncing and removes the sign-in DashVue holds, but your eBay listings, orders and feedback are unaffected on eBay’s side. Only the account owner can disconnect, since it removes buyer-identifying records from DashVue in line with eBay’s developer agreement.

Needs an active plan

Connecting and syncing eBay data requires an active DashVue subscription or trial. If your subscription lapses, your existing connection is preserved but syncing pauses until you reactivate.
