Set your sync schedule and what data stays in sync
Learn how to set your auto-sync frequency, initial import range, and which data types stay in sync with eBay in DashVue.
Your sync settings control how often DashVue pulls fresh data from eBay, how far back your first import goes, and which types of data (Orders, Finances, Inventory) stay connected. This article walks through where to find these controls and what each one does.
Where to find your sync settings
Go to Settings → Preferences. You will find two related sections there: Sync Schedule, which sets how often DashVue checks eBay for updates, and Sync Scope, which lets you choose which data types are kept in sync.
Choosing your auto-sync frequency
The Sync Schedule section lets you set how often DashVue automatically checks eBay for new orders, fee updates, and inventory changes. Pick a frequency that suits how actively you list and sell. A more frequent schedule keeps your numbers current, while a less frequent one uses fewer resources.
Frequency control needs the “manage automations” permission
If you are a teammate on someone’s account rather than the owner, you will only be able to change the auto-sync frequency if you have been granted the “manage automations” permission. Without it, the Sync Schedule control is visible but cannot be edited. Ask your account owner to grant this permission if you need to adjust it yourself.
Setting your initial import date range
When you first connect your eBay account, DashVue needs to know how far back to pull historical data. The initial import date range sets this starting point, for example importing the last three months or the last year of orders. This range only affects your first import; ongoing auto-sync keeps everything current from that point forward.
Choose a range that matches how far back you want your profit and order history to reach in DashVue. A longer range gives you more historical reporting, but it will take longer to complete.
Choosing what data stays in sync
The Sync Scope section lets you toggle three data types independently:
- Orders: your eBay sales and order details.
- Finances: eBay fees, payouts, and other financial transactions.
- Inventory: your listing and stock information.
Turning a toggle off pauses syncing for that data type only. The other two continue as normal. This is useful if, for example, you want DashVue to keep tracking your orders and finances while you manage inventory changes another way.
Inventory sync only reads from eBay
DashVue never writes stock quantity back to eBay, whether or not Inventory sync is switched on. Turning Inventory sync off simply stops DashVue from reading updates from eBay; it does not change anything on your live listings.
Things to keep in mind
Sync settings apply to your whole DashVue account, not to individual listings or orders. If you are troubleshooting missing or stale data, check both the Sync Schedule (is auto-sync running often enough) and the Sync Scope (is the relevant toggle switched on) before assuming something else is wrong.
