How tracking is sent to eBay after you buy a label
When a carrier assigns tracking, DashVue sends it to eBay and marks the order dispatched automatically. No manual step needed.
This article explains what happens after you buy a shipping label in DashVue, how the tracking number reaches eBay, and why the order gets marked as dispatched without you doing anything extra.
What happens after you buy a label
When you buy a shipping label for an order through DashVue, the carrier assigns a tracking number as part of that purchase. As soon as DashVue receives that tracking number, it sends it to eBay on your behalf and marks the order as dispatched. There is nothing further to click and nothing to confirm: the update happens automatically once the label is bought.
What this needs to work
Two conditions have to be met for tracking to be pushed through automatically:
- Your eBay connection must be set to Full Access. A read-only connection can display and draft, but it cannot publish updates back to eBay, including tracking numbers.
- The order must be an eBay order shipped using a label bought through DashVue. Tracking is only sent for labels purchased inside DashVue, it is tied to that purchase.
No manual mark-shipped or add-tracking option
DashVue does not have a manual “mark as shipped” button or a manual “add tracking number” field. If an order was not shipped with a DashVue label, or your eBay connection is not Full Access, you will need to update that order’s tracking directly on eBay instead.
Why there is no manual override
Tracking updates are designed to be a direct, automatic result of buying a label in DashVue, rather than a separate step you manage yourself. This keeps your order status and eBay’s record in sync without extra data entry, but it also means DashVue is not a general-purpose tool for marking any order dispatched. Orders shipped outside DashVue, for example with a label bought directly from a courier or another platform, will not be updated by DashVue and need to be handled on eBay.
Checking your connection
If tracking is not appearing on eBay after you buy a label, the most common cause is an eBay connection that is not set to Full Access. Check your eBay connection settings and make sure Full Access is enabled, then buy a new label to confirm tracking is pushed through correctly.
