Reply to negative or neutral feedback (and keep track)
Draft a reply to negative or neutral eBay feedback in DashVue, copy it across to eBay, and mark it handled to track it.
When a buyer leaves negative or neutral feedback, DashVue helps you write a considered reply and keep a record of it, but the actual reply still has to be posted on eBay yourself. This article covers drafting a reply in the Feedback tab, copying it across, and marking it handled so it does not get lost in your list.
Where to reply from
Open the Feedback tab in DashVue. Any negative or neutral feedback shows up in your list, and selecting one opens the reply drawer, where you can draft your response before doing anything on eBay.
Drafting your reply
- Open the feedback entry to bring up the reply drawer.
- Write your reply in the drawer. Keep it factual and brief, since eBay only allows 80 characters for a public feedback reply.
- Select Copy to copy your reply to the clipboard.
Because the limit is so short, it is worth drafting a couple of versions in the drawer and trimming to the one that fits, rather than writing your reply straight on eBay and running out of space partway through.
DashVue cannot post the reply to eBay for you
DashVue cannot post public feedback replies to eBay on your behalf. It can only help you write and copy the reply. You still need to open eBay yourself and paste it into the feedback reply box there, within eBay’s 80 character limit.
Posting it on eBay
- With your reply copied to the clipboard, open eBay to the feedback you want to respond to.
- Paste your reply into eBay’s feedback reply box.
- Check it fits within eBay’s 80 character limit, then submit it on eBay.
Marking it as handled
Once you have posted the reply on eBay, go back to the entry in DashVue’s Feedback tab and mark it as handled. This does not change anything on eBay, it simply updates your own tracking in DashVue so you can see at a glance which negative or neutral feedback you have already dealt with and which is still outstanding.
