How to Create Listings in DashVue (6 Ways)

Six ways to create an eBay listing in DashVue: by hand, or with AI from photos, a title, a barcode, an identifier or a URL, plus bulk drafting and publishing.

DashVue gives you several ways to create an eBay listing, depending on how much you want to type yourself and how fast you want to go. Every method lives behind one button, Create Listing, on your Listings page, and they all open the same listing builder. So you can start with AI and still fine-tune every field by hand before it goes live.

In this guide we’ll cover the six ways to start a listing, how to create several at once, and how to review and publish to eBay.

Good to know

AI can draft almost everything for you, but it never sets your price. You always decide what to sell for.

Where to start

  1. Open the Listings page in DashVue.
  2. Click the Create Listing button in the top toolbar.
  3. Choose one of the six methods from the menu (see below). The five marked with a sparkle icon (✨) use AI to draft the listing for you.
  4. The listing builder opens as a panel on the right. Fill in or adjust anything you need.
  5. When you’re happy, click List item on eBay to publish. Your progress saves as you go, so you won’t lose your work while you’re building.

Option 1: Create manually

Creating a listing by hand gives you full control over every field. This is the best choice when you want to set everything yourself, or when a listing needs careful, detailed information.

How to create a listing manually

  1. On the Listings page, click Create Listing.
  2. Choose Create manually (“Fill in the full listing form yourself”).
  3. Work through the builder sections:
    • Item Information: title, eBay category, condition, store category
    • Identifiers: brand, UPC / EAN / ISBN, MPN, ePID
    • Media: photos, video URL, image hosting
    • Description
    • Custom Specifics: the item specifics eBay recommends for your category
    • Pricing
    • Shipping and Size: package weight and dimensions, plus your eBay business policies (postage, returns, payment)
    • Inventory: quantity and SKU
    • GPSR / Compliance: product safety details, such as the manufacturer and EU responsible person
  4. Click List item on eBay to publish.

Best for:

  • Individual listings you want full control over
  • Listings that need detailed, accurate item specifics
  • Setting your category, policies and compliance info by hand

Option 2: Create with AI

DashVue can draft a whole listing for you from a small starting point: a photo, a title, a barcode, or a link. You give it the input, AI writes the title, description, category suggestion and item specifics, and you review the result in the builder before anything is published.

Open the Create Listing menu and pick any of the five AI methods. Here is a quick summary of each. For a full walkthrough, see How to Create New Listings with AI.

Images → Listing

Upload photos of a single product and AI reads them to build the listing. You can add up to 12 photos of the same item (JPEG, PNG or WebP).

Best for:

  • Products you already have photos for
  • Listing something quickly without typing product details

URL → Listing

Paste a product page link and AI imports the title, description and photos, then drafts your listing. You set your own price.

Currently works with:

  • eBay
  • Amazon
  • AliExpress
  • Most online shop pages

Best for:

  • Building a listing from an existing product page or supplier page

Title → Listing

Type a product title (for example, “Nike Air Max 90 Trainers UK 9 White”) and AI drafts the full listing from it.

Best for:

  • When you already know exactly what you’re selling
  • Quick drafting from a product name

Identifier → Listing

Enter a product barcode: UPC, EAN or ISBN. DashVue matches it on eBay to pull in accurate product details, then AI drafts the listing.

Best for:

  • Retail products with a known barcode
  • Faster, more accurate product matching

Scan Barcode

Use your device camera to scan a product’s barcode instead of typing it, then AI drafts the listing (the same as Identifier → Listing, but hands-free).

Best for:

  • Listing physical stock you have in front of you

Camera scanning support

Camera scanning works in modern browsers such as Chrome and Edge. If your browser doesn’t support it, you can still type the barcode in by hand.

Option 3: Create several at once (bulk with AI)

If you want to start a batch of listings together, DashVue can generate several drafts in one go.

How to bulk-create listings

  1. Go to the Listing Helper and open the Bulk create tool.
  2. Enter your items, one per line (up to 8 at a time).
  3. Choose a shared condition, and a design template if you’d like one applied.
  4. DashVue generates a draft for each item.
  5. Review the batch, add photos, and publish them individually.

Bulk create is text first

Bulk create builds the text of each listing (title, description, specifics). Add photos to each draft afterwards, then review and publish.

Best for:

  • Getting a group of similar items drafted quickly
  • Kicking off several listings before adding photos and final details

Reviewing and publishing

Whichever method you start with, everything opens in the same listing builder, and your progress saves automatically as you work.

The builder shows a live eBay preview and a Listing quality score as you edit, so you can see how your listing will look and where it can be improved. When you’re ready, click List item on eBay to publish.

You need a Full Access eBay connection to publish

To publish to eBay you need a connected eBay account with full access granted to DashVue. If your connection is read-only, you can still create and edit drafts, but you’ll need to grant full access before you can publish. See connect your eBay account for how to do that.

Before you publish: a quick check

AI creates a draft to save you time, but always give these a quick review before listing:

  • Category and item specifics
  • Price and quantity
  • Shipping and business policies
  • Description accuracy and formatting
  • Product safety (GPSR) details where required

Which method should I use?

  • Create manually: when you want full control and are listing one item
  • Images / URL / Title / Identifier / Scan: the fastest ways to get a draft written for you from what you already have
  • Bulk create: when you want to start several similar listings together

Requirements and limits

  • DashVue’s listing tools are included on every plan, so creating and editing listings is available on Starter, Growth and Scale.
  • The AI creation methods (Images, URL, Title, Identifier, Scan and Bulk create) use AI actions. Every account gets 250 free AI actions a month, and you can add an AI pack (AI Lite, AI Pro or AI Elite) for more.
  • Publishing to eBay requires a connected eBay account with full access.
  • AI creation has fair-use limits (an hourly cap and a monthly allowance) to keep things fair for everyone. If you hit a limit, wait a few minutes and try again.
