How to Create New Listings with AI
Use DashVue's AI to draft eBay listings from product photos, a title, a barcode, an identifier or a URL. Every listing is a draft you review before it goes live.
DashVue’s AI can write a whole eBay listing for you from a small starting point: product photos, a title, a barcode or identifier, or a product page link. You give it the input, and AI drafts the title, description, category suggestion and item specifics.
Every AI-created listing is saved as a draft and opens in the listing builder, so you always review and edit it before publishing. AI never sets your price. You always decide what to sell for.
Where to find AI listing creation
- Open the Listings page in DashVue.
- Click the Create Listing button in the top toolbar.
- In the menu, the five options marked with a sparkle icon (✨) are the AI methods:
- Images → Listing
- URL → Listing
- Title → Listing
- Identifier → Listing
- Scan Barcode
- Pick one, give it your input, and AI drafts the listing. It opens in the builder for you to review.
One menu, not two
All five AI methods live in the same Create Listing menu as Create manually. There is no separate AI menu to find.
Images → Listing
Upload photos of a product and AI reads them to build the listing.
How it works
- Click Create Listing, then Images → Listing.
- Drag and drop your photos, or click to upload. You can add up to 12 photos of the same item (JPEG, PNG or WebP).
- Click Create listing. AI analyses the photos and drafts the listing.
- The draft opens in the builder. Review and edit it, then publish.
What the AI may fill in
- Title
- Description
- Item specifics
- Category suggestion
Best for:
- Products you already have photos of
- Listing quickly without typing product details
One product at a time
Upload photos of one product per run. Each Images → Listing run creates a single listing from the photos you give it.
URL → Listing
Paste a product page link and AI imports the title, description and photos, then drafts your listing. You set your own price.
How it works
- Click Create Listing, then URL → Listing.
- Paste a product page URL.
- Click Create listing. AI imports what it can from the page and drafts the listing.
- Review the draft in the builder, then publish.
Works with
- eBay
- Amazon
- AliExpress
- Most online shop pages
Best for:
- Building a listing from an existing product or supplier page
Never the price, always check the draft
DashVue imports the title, description and photos, but never the price. Some pages import cleanly and some only partially, so always check the draft.
Title → Listing
Type a product title and AI drafts the full listing from it.
How it works
- Click Create Listing, then Title → Listing.
- Enter a product title, for example “Nike Air Max 90 Trainers UK 9 White”.
- Click Create listing. AI drafts the title, description, category suggestion and item specifics.
- Review the draft in the builder, then publish.
Best for:
- When you already know exactly what you’re selling
- Quick drafting from a product name
Want to draft several at once?
Use Bulk create (see “Creating several at once” below) to enter a list of items together.
Identifier → Listing
Create a listing from a product barcode number. DashVue matches it on eBay to pull in accurate product details, then AI drafts the listing.
How it works
- Click Create Listing, then Identifier → Listing.
- Choose the identifier type (UPC, EAN or ISBN) and enter the number.
- Click Create listing. DashVue looks it up on eBay and AI drafts the listing.
- Review the draft in the builder, then publish.
Best for:
- Branded and retail products with a known barcode
- More accurate product matching
Results depend on the match
Results depend on eBay finding a matching product for that identifier. If there is no close match, the draft may be lighter and need a few manual edits.
Scan Barcode
The same as Identifier → Listing, but you scan the barcode with your device camera (or from a photo) instead of typing it.
How it works
- Click Create Listing, then Scan Barcode.
- Scan the product’s barcode with your camera, or upload an image of it. The number fills in automatically, or you can type it in yourself.
- Click Create listing. DashVue looks it up on eBay and AI drafts the listing.
- Review the draft in the builder, then publish.
Best for:
- Listing physical stock you have in front of you
- Warehouse and stockroom workflows
Camera scanning support
Camera scanning works in modern browsers such as Chrome and Edge. If your browser doesn’t support it, you can still type the barcode in by hand.
Creating several at once (bulk with AI)
To draft a batch of listings together, use the Bulk create tool in the Listing Helper.
- Go to the Listing Helper and open Bulk create.
- Enter your items, one per line (up to 8 at a time).
- Choose a shared condition, and a design template if you’d like one applied.
- AI generates a draft for each item.
- Review the batch, add photos, then publish them individually.
Bulk create is text first
Bulk create writes the text of each listing (title, description, specifics). Add photos to each draft afterwards, then review and publish.
Reviewing your AI drafts
As soon as AI finishes, your new listing opens in the builder so you can review it straight away, and it saves automatically as a draft as you work.
Before you publish, check:
- Title accuracy and formatting
- Description quality
- Category and item specifics (make sure they fit the item)
- Price and quantity (AI never sets these, you do)
- Shipping and business policies
- Product safety (GPSR) details where required
You need a Full Access eBay connection to publish
To publish to eBay you need a connected eBay account with full access granted to DashVue. If your connection is read-only, you can still create and edit AI drafts, but you’ll need full access before you can publish. See connect your eBay account for how to do that.
Important notes
- AI always creates a draft. It never publishes to eBay on its own. You review and publish yourself.
- AI never sets your price. You always set price and quantity.
- How complete a draft is depends on your input, and for identifiers, barcodes and URLs, on what is available to match. Niche or unusual products may need more manual editing.
- Some item specifics may need adjusting to meet eBay’s rules for your category.
- AI creation uses AI actions. Every account gets 250 free AI actions a month, and you can add an AI pack (AI Lite, AI Pro or AI Elite) for more. AI creation also has fair-use limits (an hourly cap and a monthly allowance). If you hit a limit, wait a few minutes and try again.
- DashVue’s AI won’t draft whole-vehicle listings (cars, motorbikes, and so on). For those, use eBay’s own vehicle listing form. Vehicle parts and accessories are fine.
