Publishing your listing to eBay
What needs to be filled in and connected before the List item on eBay button will go live, and the limits that apply.
This article explains what has to be in place, on both DashVue and eBay, before the “List item on eBay” button will actually put your listing live, plus the limits that apply once you start publishing.
What your draft needs before it can go live
DashVue checks that a listing is complete before it will let you publish. Make sure the essentials are filled in: a title, a price, a category, a condition, a description and at least one photo. If anything required is missing, the publish action will not go through and you will need to go back into the listing form and finish the draft first.
Connect eBay with Full Access
Publishing only works if your DashVue account is connected to your eBay account with Full Access permissions. DashVue connects to a single eBay UK selling account, so check your connection settings show Full Access rather than read-only before you try to publish.
Read-only connections cannot publish
A read-only eBay connection lets you build and view draft listings in DashVue, but it cannot push anything to eBay. If your connection is read-only, reconnect eBay from your account settings and grant Full Access before you try to publish.
Business Policies and a merchant location on eBay
Before eBay will accept a listing from any connected app, your eBay account itself needs Business Policies (payment, postage and returns policies) and a merchant location set up. These live on eBay’s side, not inside DashVue, so if you have not set them up yet, do that in your eBay seller account settings first. Without them, eBay will reject the listing even if your DashVue draft is complete.
Fixed price listings only
DashVue publishes fixed price (Buy It Now) listings only. There is no auction option, so if you are used to listing items as auctions elsewhere, that path is not available through DashVue.
Publishing your listing
- Finish the draft: title, price, category, condition, description and at least one photo.
- Check your eBay connection shows Full Access, not read-only.
- Confirm Business Policies and a merchant location exist on your eBay account.
- Click “List item on eBay” on the listing form.
- DashVue publishes the listing to eBay UK as a fixed price (Buy It Now) listing.
Publish limit: 5 listings per hour
Publishing is capped at 5 listings per hour. If you are publishing several drafts in one session, spread them out and expect to wait for the next hour once you hit the cap rather than publishing them all in one go.
