Auto-relist: keep unsold items fresh in eBay search

Unsold listings that sit unchanged for weeks tend to fall down eBay search results. Auto-relist ends and re-publishes those listings on a schedule so they get a fresh listing date, with an optional price cut to help them move. This article covers how to set it up, what it can and cannot do, and the one connection limit that gates it.

What auto-relist does

Auto-relist watches your fixed-price listings and, once a listing has gone unsold for a number of days you choose, ends it and republishes it as a new listing. The relist gives the item a new listing date, which is what refreshes its position in eBay search relative to older, unsold listings. It does not touch listings that are already selling normally, only ones that have gone stale.

Setting it up

1. Open the Auto-relist settings on the Stock › Listings page and switch the feature on globally. With it off, nothing is relisted regardless of any per-item toggle.
2. Set the Relist after threshold, the number of days a listing must have gone unsold before it qualifies to be ended and relisted.
3. Optionally set a Price reduction to apply at the point of relisting, so the item goes back live at a slightly lower price rather than the same price that did not sell the first time. Leave it at 0 to relist at the same price.
4. Optionally keep Only relist single-quantity items on, so multi-quantity listings (which usually behave differently in search and do not go stale the same way) are left out of the automation entirely.
5. Changes to the global card save as you make them (the toggle saves on change, the number fields on blur, and you get an “Auto-relist updated” confirmation). This defines the rule the automation applies, but does not by itself turn every listing on: you still choose which listings are included.

Per-item and bulk control

Auto-relist is not all-or-nothing across your whole inventory. From the listings table you can open a single item’s inspector, go to its Stock tab, and use the Auto-relist block there: an Enabled checkbox for just that listing plus a Price reduction on relist (%) field. Save it with the Save stock bar. (The inspector’s Sourcing tab also shows read-only relist history, so you can see how many times an item has been auto-relisted and when it last happened.)

If you want to apply it to many items at once, tick multiple rows in the listings table and use the Auto-relist on / Auto-relist off buttons in the bulk action bar to switch the automation for the whole selection in one step. This lets you, for example, enable it only for slow-moving stock rather than for everything you sell.

Why relisting helps

eBay search ranking rewards recency alongside other listing quality signals, so an item that has quietly sat unsold for weeks can lose visibility even if nothing about it has changed. Ending and republishing resets that listing date, and pairing it with an optional price reduction gives the relisted item an actual reason to convert this time, rather than repeating the same listing at the same price.
