Add your postage, returns and about-us wording with the footer designer

Build a reusable footer block for postage, returns and shop info on every template, or convert existing wording with AI. eBay-safe formatting only.

The footer designer builds the block that appears at the bottom of every description created from a template, things like your postage and returns wording, a short about-us section, and a “visit my shop” line. Build it once from simple blocks and it is applied automatically wherever that template is used, so you are not retyping the same policy wording into every listing.

Every template has a footer area at the bottom of the description. Instead of writing raw text, you build it from a small set of blocks: headings, paragraphs, bullet lists, dividers, and spec rows (label and value pairs, useful for things like “Dispatch time: 1 business day”). There is also a ready-made “visit my shop” line you can drop in. Add the blocks in the order you want them to appear, then save the footer to the template.

Because the footer lives on the template rather than on a single listing, one edit updates the wording everywhere that template is used going forward.

  1. Open the template you want to edit and go to its footer designer.
  2. Add a heading block for each section you want, for example “Postage & Returns” or “About Us”.
  3. Under each heading, add a paragraph block for free text, or a bullet list block for short points such as dispatch days, return window, or combined postage.
  4. Use a spec row block for label and value details you want lined up neatly, and a divider block to visually separate sections.
  5. Add the “visit my shop” line if you want a closing prompt at the very bottom.
  6. Save the template. The footer now appears on every listing built from it.

Converting existing wording with AI

If you already have postage, returns or about-us wording written up somewhere, you do not have to rebuild it block by block by hand. Paste the existing text into the footer designer and let AI convert it into the matching blocks (headings, paragraphs, bullet lists and so on) for you to review and adjust.

This conversion uses your account’s AI actions, the same monthly allowance used across DashVue’s AI features. Every account gets a monthly allowance of free AI actions, with optional AI Lite, AI Pro or AI Elite packs if you need more.

eBay-safe formatting only

The footer designer is deliberately limited to formatting that eBay allows in item descriptions: headings, paragraphs, bullet lists, dividers, spec rows and a shop-visit line. It cannot add prices, links, images or video. Keep any promotional wording, pricing, or media out of the footer and handle those elsewhere in your listing.

As with any other listing change, publishing an updated description to eBay needs a Full Access eBay connection. A read-only connection can still draft and preview the footer, but changes will not push live until Full Access is connected.

Good practice

Keep the footer short and factual: postage timescales, returns window, and a friendly line about your shop are usually enough. Save separate templates if different product categories genuinely need different postage or returns wording, rather than trying to cover every case in one footer.
